1. Check the size of the solar panel - in this case, bigger is better.
Mono-crystalline (blue cells) is more efficient than amorphous cells (similar to what you see on solar scales, calculators etc). Don&#039;t waste your money on tiny solar cells if they are powering more than 5-10 LED&#039;s.
2. NiMH batteries perform better than NiCd when temperature and weather fluctuation is a problem. They are also more eco friendly on the environment at disposal time.
3. LED bulbs should be bright and even - when they are not, it indicates a problem with the power supply.
